Purpose of the role:

Responsible for crafting and serving innovative cocktails providing memorable experiences for our guests.  

Responsibilities:

Bartending Duties:

• Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Lead Bartender/Bar Manager when necessary, to ensure customer satisfaction. Communicate any guest concerns directly to the Bar Manager.
• Extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart.
• Be completely familiar with bar beverage menu and drink recipes.
• Provide properly mixed cocktails and other beverages, as requested, to service staff and guests.
• When requested, prepare charcuterie & cheese boards in a clean prep station.
• Assist with washing, drying, and restocking glassware & dishes.
• Understand or be willing to learn about classic & modern cocktails, spirits, house cocktails, produce, etc. Be willing to contribute ideas to update beverage menu on a seasonal.
• Abide by state liquor service standards, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons.
• Follow all opening and closing checklists to properly open and close the bar.
• Review and verify previous shift’s inventory, at the beginning of every shift.
• Follow all specified procedures to correctly handle cash, including signing paid-out sheet for tips received, maintaining adequate cash amount in bank, giving correct change for cash transactions, ringing all drinks through the POS system, and accurately processing credit cards.
• Maintain adequate stock of beverages, supplies and clean glassware in accordance with established pars and routine procedures, and be responsible for the security of beverage stock while on duty.
• Maintain the organization of the bar areas, including emptying trash as needed.

Other Duties

• Check ID’s when no Security Guard on duty.
• Check the cleanliness of the guest restrooms every hour.
• Maintain the proper care and cleanliness of equipment to minimize breakage.
• Represent and market Wildhawk Bar in a positive and professional manner as requested. Continually promote the Bar internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property. 
• Promote and comply with all policies and procedures of The PlumpJack Group. 
• Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.
• Must maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas.
• Attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
• Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
• Adhere to the attendance and punctuality policy as outlined in the PlumpJack Employee Handbook. Report to work as scheduled and be prepared to start work. Remain at work for the entire work shift, except for meal and rest periods or when required to leave on authorized PlumpJack business.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 1-2-years’ experience in a similar role. 
• Must have current Food Handler Certificate and Responsible Beverage Service Certificate that reviews all California liquor laws.
• Current CPR certification preferred. 
• Must be flexible, work efficiently under pressure and able to work in a noisy fast-paced bar environment.
• Detail oriented, organized, and efficient.
• Diplomatic and calm with strong verbal communication skills. 
• Must be able to communicate with co-workers and guests in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
• Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.

Working Conditions:

Works indoors mainly in adequately lighted bar area. This job operates behind the bar and may be working in close proximity to co-workers. The noise level in the work environment can be loud .  Work areas may be crowded and noisy. Exposed to outside conditions while servicing outside area. Bar floors may be uneven and may be slippery. Required to frequently go up and down stairs throughout shift. 

Physical Demands:

Stands/walks moderate distances throughout shift. Shifts may be scheduled for up to 8 hours. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift and grasp to perform routine tasks. Ability to move objects weighing up to 50lbs over moderate distances. Frequent use of stairs, daily.
