Shift Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS: **Shift Manager** The Shift Manager supports the General Manager in daily operations, leads team members, and helps deliver a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for every guest. **Team Leadership and Training** - Lead assigned shifts and give team members clear assignments and expectations. - Coach and motivate a team that includes teenagers and young adults. - Train employees on attraction safety, guest service, and park procedures. - Address performance concerns professionally and document or escalate issues to the General Manager. - Coordinate breaks and staff coverage throughout the shift. **Guest Service** - Welcome guests and assist with admission, waivers, memberships, and park policies. - Respond calmly to questions, complaints, and upset parents. - Resolve concerns within your authority and involve the General Manager when needed. - Help the team communicate clearly and keep lines moving during busy periods. **Safety and Park Operations** - Enforce safety rules and attraction requirements consistently. - Confirm that attractions have trained staff and required safety checks are completed. - Respond to incidents, follow emergency procedures, and complete required reports. - Monitor cleanliness and readiness throughout the park, including restrooms, attractions, and guest areas. - Step into operational roles as needed to support the team. **Birthday Parties and Events** - Help coordinate birthday parties, group visits, and special events. - Review bookings, communicate event details, and prepare staff assignments. - Support party hosts and coordinate with the caf to keep events on schedule. - Complete booking-related administrative work and guest follow-up as assigned. **Cash Handling and Administration** - Follow cash-handling procedures, oversee assigned transactions, and complete register reconciliation. - Maintain accurate shift notes and communicate staffing, maintenance, and guest concerns. - Use park systems to review bookings, schedules, training **Opening and Closing** Complete opening and closing checklists. Ensure cleaning, restocking, equipment shutdown, and cash procedures are completed. Secure the building and follow key and alarm procedures. Remain through completion of assigned closing duties. **Schedule Requirements** Required weekend and evening availability. Two designated days off during the week. Availability through closing duties, which typically take up to 1 hours after the park closes. Weekend shifts may be long; specific expectations will be discussed during the interview. The Shift Manager reports to the General Manager and performs other related duties as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience leading a team or supervising shifts in hospitality, restaurants, retail, recreation, entertainment, or a similar setting. Required evening and weekend availability, including opening and closing shifts. Two designated days off are provided during the week. Ability to remain through closing duties, typically up to 1 hours after the park closes. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and reliable transportation to and from work. Strong customer-service skills and the ability to calmly resolve guest concerns. Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable, including teenagers and young adults. Sound judgment and the confidence to enforce safety rules consistently. Comfort working in a busy, noisy family environment with children and large groups. Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn booking, scheduling, and training systems. Ability to handle cash accurately and follow register and security procedures. Willingness to work hands-on, including assisting guests, supporting attractions, cleaning, and helping with parties. Ability to perform essential duties, including movin throughout the park and responding to incidents, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Experience coordinating birthday parties, group visits, or events. Experience training employees or working with teens. Current CPR and first-aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification. Previous adventure-park experience is not required.
