Special Education Teacher – High School Caseload

Location: Hartford, CT
Position Type: Full-Time School-Based Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to support a high school caseload in a Hartford, CT school setting. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is committed to helping students with disabilities achieve academic, social, and post-secondary goals in a supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide specialized instruction tailored to meet the needs of high school students with disabilities
• Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and school staff
• Maintain accurate student records, progress monitoring, and required documentation
• Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives

Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education certification preferred/required
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Experience working with high school students with disabilities preferred
• Knowledge of IEP development, accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

• Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule
