ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

The position is located in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) with the following features:

• Number of Beds: 26
• Number of Staff: 15
• Staff Type:
  • Day Shift: 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, 1 Patient Care Tech
  • Night Shift: 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, 1 Patient Care Tech
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Type of Equipment: Balloon pumps, CRRT, Hypothermia equipment
• Electronic Medical Record System: Meditech

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital ICU experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with Meditech
• Experience traveling to large facility ICU units

Typical procedures performed in the unit include:

• Heart catheterization
• Management of balloon pumps
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Hypothermia treatment
• Cardioversion
• Insertion and management of central lines
• Administration of medication drips
