Founding Data Science Engineer, Data PlatformOur client, an innovative life sciences organisation in New York City, is building a cutting-edge data platform to power evidence generation and AI reasoning. They are seeking a Founding Data Science Engineer to own this platform end-to-end, setting the technical direction and creating the core data infrastructure that enables our client's team to discover, trust, and leverage data at scale.Key Skills and ExperienceEnd-to-end ownership of production data platforms: Proven experience designing, building, and operating shared data infrastructure that supports multiple products and teams.Distributed systems and cloud infrastructure: Deep understanding of scalable, resilient systems, orchestration, and the full data lifecycle from ingestion to consumption.Data ingestion, storage, enrichment, retrieval, and lineage: Ability to architect robust pipelines, create shared data assets, and maintain clear data lineage.Reliability, observability, governance, and data quality: Track record establishing platform standards, monitoring, and controls to ensure trusted, high-quality data.Platform operations and incident response: Hands-on experience running production platforms, resolving issues, and continuously improving systems.Workflow orchestration and metadata systems: Familiarity with orchestration tools and metadata-driven architectures to manage complex data workflows.Data lineage and observability tooling: Building capabilities to trace data flows and provide visibility into system behaviour.AI, healthcare, or biomedical data platforms: Experience in these domains and with knowledge graphs or evidence management systems is highly advantageous.Technical leadership and architecture: Ability to make strategic architectural decisions and lead mission-critical platform initiatives at Staff, Principal, or Founding level.Interested in shaping this platform from the ground up?If this aligns with your background, reply to this email and we will gladly share more about the opportunity with our client.EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
