6.5 Lead Cafeteria Workers

6 Hour Lead Position
The Food Services Department anticipates openings for 6.5-hour Lead workers within the 2026-2027 school year at South Toms River Elementary. Anyone interested in applying for any of these positions need to have the following list of qualifications:
- Certified or willing to be certified in HAACP & Sanitation.
- Possess the ability to lead people, properly train, delegate responsibilities, supervise employees & make quick decisions while acting in a professional manner.
- Must be able to troubleshoot & perform all functions of the "Point of Sale" (POS) register system along with the responsibilities of daily deposit procedures.
- Ability to compile paperwork and submit to the Cafeteria Office on a daily basis.
- Maintain paperwork required by the State & Federal Agencies.
- Ability to perform all duties required for serving Breakfast, Lunch and Y-Kids programs.
- Experience in Elementary and Secondary schools is preferred, but not required.
- Must have understanding of time management and be able to delegate work to ensure school runs effectively and efficiently.
- Must be able to place orders on a computer based system.
- Must be able to accept deliveries properly from a variety of vendors and address any concerns or discrepancies upon arrival.
- Must be conscientious, polite, and understand the importance of batch cooking.
