Functional Safety Engineer

Functional Safety Engineer

We are seeking a Functional Safety (FuSa) Engineer with strong experience in automotive electronics to support safety-critical system development. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 standards and driving safety analysis activities across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support functional safety activities in accordance with ISO 26262
Perform safety analyses such as FMEDA, FTA, and HARA
Define and manage safety requirements at system and component levels
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and systems engineering
Support safety validation and verification processes
Contribute to safety case development and documentation

Required Qualifications:

Strong background in automotive electronics systems
Hands-on experience with ISO 26262 standards
Expertise in FMEDA and other safety analysis techniques
Experience working on embedded systems or control units (ECUs)
Excellent communication and documentation skills

Location:

Preferred: On-site in the Greater Milwaukee area
Open to remote candidates (based on experience)
