Job Description and Duties

Under direction of the Supervisory I in the Office of Personnel and Field Support (OPFS), the Analyst II provides administrative support to Statewide District Regional Offices, Headquarters Maintenance Office Chiefs, and staff. The Analyst II works in partnership with the Division of Human Resources (DHR), Information Technology (IT), and the Division of Accounting. The Analyst II provides support with in the following functional programs: Staff Central (in-house timekeeping database) and the Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS) [Division of Maintenance's asset management system]. The employee identifies issues that may have a Statewide impact and reviews, research, and prepares comprehensive analysis and reports, develops and presents training to Statewide District Region Timekeepers and Supervisors on the appropriate and accurate use of Staff Central per policies and guidelines. The employee provides administrative support to the Division of Maintenance's Management and Supervisors in a variety of administrative, analytical, and technical assignments. The incumbent must be flexible, open-minded, perform with tact, and professionalism at all times as a representative of the Department.

Working Conditions

Position located at 1120 N St Sacramento, Sacramento County

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

2. Provide an example of how you have developed and delivered training or guidance to diverse groups of end users or colleagues. Explain how you ensured clarity and supported organizational changes or system enhancements.

Must be able to work effectively with all levels of Managers, Supervisors, and Staff. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to create and develop spreadsheets and charts. Must be able to balance multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
