Work Environment

This role is based onsite in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in Princeton, New Jersey. Here, you will collaborate with a robust interdisciplinary team in a supportive, motivating environment. You will have access to advanced rehabilitation technologies and therapeutic equipment while working in a facility designed to foster patient recovery and wellness. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, allowing for a balanced work-life experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment focused on preventing disability, alleviating pain, and restoring and enhancing muscle function in alignment with established care plans.
• Provide oversight to Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring the implementation of designated treatment plans are executed effectively and optimally.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patient function by employing diagnostic and prognostic assessments, including muscle, nerve, joint, and functional tests.
• Assess home environments where rehabilitation occurs to make informed recommendations that promote patient independence.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises and guide clients through non-manual exercises to enhance functional outcomes.
• Deliver traction, massage, and treatment involving various physical agents while tailoring approaches to each patient’s needs.
• Evaluate and recommend adjustments for prosthetic and orthotic devices, ensuring functionality aligns with the patient’s therapeutic goals.
• Regularly participate in interdisciplinary case conferences, engaging in collaborative planning to deliver comprehensive treatment strategies.
• Document patient progress meticulously, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, adhering to OASIS standards.
• Facilitate family education regarding comprehensive physical therapy programs and device care for optimal patient support.
• Complete on-site functional assessments to review and revise care plans based on patient progress and resource utilization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work with a diverse range of patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, sports injuries, neurological disorders, and other conditions impacting mobility and physical health. Our clinic aims to provide care that is respectful and responsive to individual patient preferences, needs, and values while incorporating the families in the therapeutic process.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required for this position.
• An active Physical Therapist license in the state of New Jersey, with a clean record free from sanctions.
• Proven expertise in various manual therapy modalities and a strong ability to craft tailored exercise programs based on individual patient assessments.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, particularly Web PT, for precise documentation management.
• In-depth knowledge of current research-supported physical therapy techniques, ensuring practices remain aligned with industry advancements.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient rehabilitation settings will be considered an asset.
• Previous involvement in interdisciplinary care coordination and case management is highly regarded.
