Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal MechanicLocation: DMV Region (VA / MD / DC)Pay: Competitive hourly pay based on experiencePrevailing Wage Opportunities: $60–$75 per hour when available depending on project classificationVertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanics to support our growing mechanical construction projects across the DMV region.This role focuses on the installation of commercial ductwork and sheet metal HVAC systems on new construction and renovation projects.Types of ProjectsOur teams work on a variety of large commercial construction projects, including:Multifamily and mixed-use developmentsUniversities and educational facilitiesHealthcare and medical buildingsOffice buildings and tenant fit-outsHospitality and hotel projectsKey ResponsibilitiesInstall commercial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systemsRead and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprintsPerform layout and installation of air distribution systemsInstall dampers, fittings, and related HVAC componentsOperate lifts, power tools, and installation equipmentMaintain job site safety standards and cleanlinessWork with Foremen and crews to meet project schedulesApply If You Have Experience WithCommercial HVAC duct installationSheet metal fabrication or installationMechanical construction projectsBlueprint reading and layoutInstalling ductwork on commercial buildingsQualifications2+ years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experienceAbility to read mechanical drawingsFamiliar with hand tools and installation equipmentAbility to work independently or as part of a crewWillingness to travel to project sites across the DMV regionOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferredCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly pay based on experiencePrevailing wage project opportunities when availablePerformance -based bonus opportunitiesMedical, dental, and vision benefits401(k) retirement planPaid Time Off (PTO)Steady work across a strong pipeline of commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects throughout the DMV regionOpportunities for career growth within a growing mechanical contractorMany of our Foremen and field leaders started their careers at VMG as mechanics and advanced through the company.
