Mesa Public Schools Transportation Vehicle CoordinatorEmployment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)Base Hourly: $26.48Class/Calendar: B26, 12 monthsBenefits: Vacation, sick leave, holidays, retirement matched through the Arizona State Retirement System, health, and life insurancePerformance Pay: Available annuallyNew Hire Experience: 1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximumNew Hire Education: 1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the positionJob Summary: To coordinate district vehicle repairs with vendors and district users; to perform vehicle emission testing; and to ensure the availability of district vehicles in safe operating condition.Key Responsibilities:Regular and on-time attendance requiredCoordinate the scheduling of vehicle repairs with district mechanics, outside vendors and district users to ensure the availability of vehicles in safe operating conditionPrepare work orders to initiate repairs and/or maintenance on district vehiclesSchedule and perform vehicle emission testing on district vehicles to ensure compliance of state and federal regulationsMonitor fuel inventory to ensure adequate supply and availabilityMaintain vehicle documentation and records (i.e. fuel usage, emission testing, repair history, etc.) to provide written support and/or to convey informationResearch discrepancies between the vehicle management software and the work order system to provide accurate informationRespond to inquiries regarding status of district vehicles being servicedResolves concerns or complaints on service or repair vehiclesEnforce and adhere to district policies and proceduresEnsure shop is maintained and free from hazards and safe work procedures are followedPerform quality control checks and inspections on repaired and serviced vehicles prior to release to usersSupervise and direct work of shop personnelProvide information to the transportation department to assist in the completion of reportsPerform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unitAssists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public SchoolsRequired Qualifications:Valid, or ability to obtain, Arizona class B CDL driver's licenseArizona Fleet Manager Emission CertificationFive years' mechanical experience with knowledge of gasoline and diesel-powered enginesMinimum three years' supervisory experience required with proven ability to work with and to lead others;
