Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Teacher of the Visually Impaired AB Staffing is seeking an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired for the 2025/2026 school year. Requirements: Teacher of the Visually Impaired Certification/Licensure through the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Active IVP card (Identity Verified Prints) for background clearance At least 1 year of experience as a TVI in a similar setting, preferably with students ranging from general education to those with cognitive disabilities and medically fragile conditions Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to handle multiple tasks, stand or sit for extended periods, see and read with or without vision aids, hear and understand speech, and follow instructions Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 40 pounds Job Description: Caseload and classroom details vary by school location. Recruitment specialists will discuss specifics upon application to match your experience and skills. The contract runs through the 2025/2026 school year, with a 37.5 to 40-hour workweek aligned with the academic calendar. Key Responsibilities: Perform vision and learning media assessments; recommend evaluations such as low vision, orientation and mobility, psycho-social, and physical education Conduct orientation and mobility assessments; develop goals for safe and independent travel and procure necessary equipment Contribute to IEP development, including goals, modifications, learning styles, and transition plans Prepare documentation and participate in IEP meetings to communicate progress and updates Collaborate with related staff to determine evaluations, strategies, and accommodations Assist in procuring classroom equipment and modifying environments for optimal learning Monitor student progress and provide instruction in compensatory and related skills Promote listening, visual efficiency, concept development, career readiness, social skills, organization, and self-advocacy Participate in professional development activities Salary: $1,800.00 – $2,000.00/week DOE Why choose AB Staffing?
