Registered Nurse RN Emergency Dept

Location: Queen Creek, Arizona | Department: Emergency Ctr‑Hosp | Shift: Night (7:00 pm–7:30 am, weekend and holiday rotation). Night shift differential: 18% and a flat rate of $3/hour for weekend shift. Banner Ironwood Medical Center is a 34‑bed Emergency Department serving Queen Creek, Florence, San Tan Valley and surrounding communities. The ED is a Level IV Trauma Center and is designated Pediatric Prepared. It includes a 12‑bed Pediatric Inpatient Unit and an Adult Critical Care Unit. Position Summary As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will provide direct patient care across a wide range of acuity levels, partnering with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to deliver high‑quality, safe care. Core Functions Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge‑planning needs; review history, diagnostics, and labs, reporting abnormal results to the appropriate clinician. Formulate a comprehensive plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and interdisciplinary input; revise the plan as patient status changes. Implement the plan of care through direct care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health‑care team. Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; adjust the plan of care as needed. Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring legibility, timeliness, and compliance with policy. Provide evidence‑based care and participate in research, shared leadership, and education of facility personnel. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and professional organizations to promote timely, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Supervise staff and workflow at the department level when applicable. Interact with staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to coordinate care and provide spiritual support when needed. Minimum Qualifications Valid RN license in the state of practice, or temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure. BLS certification. One year of experience in an acute‑care hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse. Experience with adult and pediatric patients in an Emergency Department setting. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Professional certification in Emergency Nursing (RN‑BC or equivalent).
