Qualifications:
Valid Washington State teaching certificate with an endorsement in assigned teaching area(s)
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning ; Master’s preferred
Successful teaching experience in middle and/or high school is preferred
Successful experience teaching across diverse populations, preferred
Ability to work collaboratively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse and from varied socio-economic backgrounds
Ability to communicate professionally, positively, and respectfully with students, parents, staff, and community members
Demonstrates curiosity and a passion for learning and believes that learning is a social endeavor
Familiarity with a wide variety of teaching techniques which are used to maximize student learning
Proven ability to provide an instructional program for students geared to meet their individual needs at their instructional level
Willingness and desire to assist a teaching team in implementing an interdisciplinary instructional program
Advanced ability to use technology as an effective communication, planning, and instructional tool
Ability to work in a semi-open or self-contained classroom
Willingness and desire to collaborate with a professional learning community
Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities aligned with school and district initiatives
Willingness to communicate with parents
Willingness to work closely with instructional committees to research, plan, and implement innovative ways to improve student learning
Essential Functions:
Infuses contextual learning opportunities into subject area
Teaches in an instructional program that meets the students’ individual needs at their individual instructional level and makes modifications when necessary
Guide students to research, analyze data, and problem-solve in a global context
Designs learning experiences and assessments that allow students to demonstrate applied skills
Quickly learns and infuses emerging technologies into teaching, learning, and assessment
Actively engage students in using technology in individual and collaborative learning activities
Works as an enthusiastic part of a learning-centered environment believing that each student can learn
Works collaboratively within the professional learning community to improve instruction, learning, and assessment
Maintains effective, positive classroom management
Provides a safe environment
Works in a flexible and cooperative manner
Treats co-workers, supervisors, students, parents and others with dignity and respect at all times
Serves as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students
Cooperates as a professional team member, accepts faculty responsibilities, and represents the best interests of the school
Maintains regular and punctual attendance and hours of operation as set by the assigned building/location and the Comprehensive Professional Agreement to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements
Supervision of students
Other duties as assigned

Benefits/Compensation:
Salary range: $67,165 – 126,599 (includes Base & TRI enrichment; commensurate upon FTE, degree, credits and experience). Salary schedules can be accessed here ( .
Additional Compensation: Certificated positions may have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary range such as, but not limited to TRI professional learning, extended year days, extra appendix E supplemental days and professional development reimbursement. Retirement: Employees may be eligible for retirement benefits through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS). Eligibility is based on FTE. Detailed information can be found here ( .
Time Off: Includes paid time off, sick, personal, religious, military and bereavement leave.
Sick Leave: 8 hours per month (part-time employee accrual will be proportionate to their FTE).
Personal Leave: 3 days per school year
