Job Description: To assist students in overcoming problems which impede learning and help them in making educational, occupational, and life decisions which facilitate their growth, potential and self-actualization.

Position: Highly Qualified Guidance Counselor

Guidance Counselor Responsibilities :

Monitor student progress throughout the summer session through regular check-ins and provide timely guidance as needs arise.

Register and orient new participants to the summer program community, ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition into the program environment.


Deliver individual and group counseling services addressing academic, career, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

Initiate and maintain accurate student records throughout the summer session, ensuring all relevant information is documented and accessible.


Build and sustain strong relationships with parents, program staff, and school-year personnel to promote continuity of support and effective communication across the Student Services Department.


Support student attendance and engagement by proactively addressing barriers to participation and working collaboratively with school-year counselors to ensure a seamless transition back to the regular academic year.

Perform any additional student services duties as assigned by the Summer Program Coordinator, building principal, or their designee.

Reports to: Summer Program Coordinator, building principal, or their designee.
