Position Summary

Electrosteel USA LLC is seeking a dependable, hands-on Yard Supervisor for our Stockton, CA facility.

This is a working supervisory position responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, handling, storage, and movement of ductile iron pipe and related products .

The Yard Supervisor will work closely with the Yard Manager, assist in coordinating daily yard activities, and provide direction to yard personnel as required. The successful candidate must also be capable of overseeing day-to-day yard operations and filling in for the Yard Manager during his absence .

This position is ideal for an experienced forklift operator, yard lead, or warehouse lead who is comfortable working hands-on while also taking on supervisory responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload trucks using forklifts and other yard/material-handling equipment.
• Move, stack, organize, and store ductile iron pipe, fittings, and related products.
• Verify products, quantities, and condition against shipping and receiving documents.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing material for visible damage or discrepancies.
• Coordinate daily loading, unloading, and yard activities with the Yard Manager.
• Provide direction and supervision to yard personnel as required.
• Ensure trucks are loaded safely, correctly, and according to shipment requirements.
• Maintain proper organization and placement of inventory within the yard.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and help maintain inventory accuracy.
• Ensure the yard, equipment, and work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow and enforce company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
• Conduct basic pre-use inspections of forklifts and yard equipment and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Communicate effectively with truck drivers, yard personnel, customer service, logistics, and management.
• Identify and report operational, inventory, safety, or equipment issues.
• Assist in resolving day-to-day issues that could affect shipments or yard operations.
• Take responsibility for daily yard operations when the Yard Manager is absent.
• Perform other yard and operational duties as required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, distribution, construction materials, pipe, steel, lumber, or other heavy-material environment preferred.
• Previous lead, supervisory, or team-lead experience preferred.
• Strong forklift and material-handling equipment operating experience required.
• Must be properly trained, qualified, and certified to operate forklifts and other applicable yard machinery/equipment, as required by company policy and applicable safety regulations.
• Experience loading and unloading trucks required.
• Ability to safely handle and work around large and heavy products.
• Ability to read shipping documents, packing lists, and basic inventory records.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to provide direction to other employees and make routine operational decisions when required.
• Dependable, responsible, and able to work with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical yard duties throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely work around forklifts, trucks, pipe, and other heavy material-handling equipment.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with loading, unloading, and yard operations.

Compensation & Benefits

• $21.00–$24.00 per hour , based on experience and skill set.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to take ownership of the work being performed in the yard .

The right candidate should be comfortable operating forklifts and yard equipment, performing physical yard work, and supervising other employees when required. The individual should have the maturity and judgment to keep the yard operating safely and efficiently when the Yard Manager is unavailable.
