Emergency Department Technician

Support position to provide patient care under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse in the Emergency Services setting. Responsible for implementing components of patient care through initiation and completion of procedures. Provides assistance to the physicians, nurses, staff, visitors and other departments.

Work Type: Full Time

Shift: Shift 3/7:00:00PM to 7:30:00AM

Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $21.01 - $24.69 / hour

Shift Differential: $6/hour

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: No experience required.

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire (American Heart Association BLS preferred), upon renewal American Heart Association BLS is required. American Heart Association - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paramedics must have upon hire. Not required for EMTs. Department approved de-escalation training, must obtain within 90 days of hire date.

License: Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic license required.

Other: Accepts flexible scheduling including change of shift start times and/or change of shift date to meet department needs. Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required. Any other tasks and/or duties as assigned within the EDT scope of practice. May have access to and transport non-controlled medications as directed. Agrees to incorporate the following into daily practice:
