Marketing Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:Melissa Memorial Hospital is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing and Engagement Specialist to support both internal and external communication and outreach efforts. This role will help promote hospital services, employee initiatives, events, and health programs through engaging digital and print content.This position is ideal for someone with a passion for storytelling, design, and engagement who enjoys creating content that informs, connects, and strengthens relationships with both employees and the community.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Supports marketing campaigns for hospital services, providers, recruitment, and community events.Assist with social media content planning, posting, and basic analytics tracking.Coordinate employee engagement initiatives including Employee of the Month, recognition programs, and internal campaigns.Support community outreach events, health fairs, hospital week activities, and special events.Assist with creation and editing of flyers, ads, graphics, presentations, and basic digital content.Maintain marketing calendars and support marketing project coordination.Ensure compliance with hospital branding standards across materials.Assist with website updates and coordination with external vendors as needed.Provide general administrative and project support related to marketing, engagement, and communication initiatives.Serve as backup support to Recruitment SpecialistOther duties as assignedCOMPETENCIES:Support MMH vision and mission.Maintain confidentiality of all work information.Demonstrate an ability to function successfully in a team environment.Exhibit courteous, compassionate, and respectful treatment of internal and external customers.Displays a positive attitude and flexibility in changing situations.Participates in identifying problems and suggesting solutions.Report any compliance issues as designated in the MMH Compliance Program.QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUMAssociate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related fieldExperience with basic video editing for digital or social media useExperience creating or editing basic marketing materials such as flyers, advertisements, presentations, or digital content1-2 Years experience supporting marketing, communications, employee engagement, or community outreach initiativesStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Ability to work independently and collaboratively with hospital staffPREFERREDBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related fieldPrevious experience in a healthcare, nonprofit, or community-based organizationBilingual English/Spanish preferred"This position will remain open until filled; however, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis."WHY WORK AT MELISSA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL?At Melissa Memorial Hospital, we’re a family not just a healthcare provider serving patients, staff, and community with care and inclusion. While being “rural” we are equipped for any situation. It is a model rural hospital with 1 operating room, surgical procedure room, 4 bay emergency room, and radiology including 64-slice CT scanner and mammography, MRI, ECHO, and Nuclear Medicine, along with other ancillary services. The hospital is co-located with a family practice clinic and retail pharmacy services. Other services include chemotherapy, general & orthopedic surgery, podiatry, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, progressive rehab services, and wound care. MMH operates a full-time EMS service and maintains a 24/7 AirLife Helicopter base.THE COMMUNITY:Holyoke is home to the Holyoke Dragons and is truly a “City of Pride and Progress.” Holyoke offers:From different coffee shops to different ethnic flavors, to a quick bite, the sweet small town of Holyoke has a handful of different restaurant options to choose from.Holyoke is based in Phillips County where there are four different rural towns in the county with two schools in the county.
