Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal Computer Aided Design and Modeling Engineer to join our diverse and talented engineering organization in Colorado Springs, CO in support of our National Defense as part of our radar system development programs. As the CAD/CAM engineer you will support the technical engineering drawing and drafting team to develop and maintain the radar systems configuration baseline and support technical data. The successful candidate should be detailed oriented, be able to work collaboratively with multi-disciplined teams, and have a proven track record of accurately documenting and maintaining a configuration baseline. In this job, you will:Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and as-built documentationCheck completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioningIdentify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.Support the overall Production Lifecycle Management SystemOther duties as assignedThis position can be staffed at the Principal or Sr Principal level based on the basic qualifications below. Basic Qualifications:Principal: 5 Years with bachelor's in science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhDSr Principal: 8 Years with bachelor's in science; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhDMust have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.Ability to travel up to 25%Experience with 3D CAD modeling software packages, including NX, Creo, and/or SolidWorksExperience with the generation and creation of engineering drawings compliant with ASME standardsExperience with Illustration Software packages, including Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and Adobe FrescoExperience with Indentured part list generation and drawing tree levels of indentureExperience with establishment and maintaining system configuration baselineUnderstanding of mechanical design principles, analysis, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.Experience with production lifecycle management systems to manage product and CAD data such as Siemens Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, or ARASExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent time management and organizational skillsAble to focus on the micro and macro details of a complex system of systemsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelors STEM degreeExperience with Siemens Teamcenter for managing products and CAD dataExperience working to conclusion design drawings and specifications across the entire product development life cycleExperience/knowledge working design verification and verification reportingExperience designing and modeling mechanical hardware interfaces (such as mounting bracketry)Experience with cable management and cable assembly requirements for RF and fiber optic applicationsExperience with integrated electrical systems setup, testing and issue resolutionKnowledge of test design and executionWork experience in a government contracting environmentExperience in USAF/DoD radar systemsExperience with utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) drafting assistants to generate 3D models from text promptsExperience with USAF Technical OrdersExperience with AGILE, SCRUM, & DevOpsPrimary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
