Maintenance Assistant

The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for ensuring resident and staff safety by being responsible for repairs to the buildings and furnishings, as well as up-keep of the grounds including lawn care and snow/ice removal. Duties/Responsibilities Assists in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures. Manages heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality. Plans and schedules repairs to the premises as needed. Conducts periodic quality checks on equipment and HVAC systems to ensure systems are compliant with appropriate legal and industry standards. Performs general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry. Cleans and assists with upkeep of facility. Upkeep of grounds, including lawn care and snow ice removal. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent preferred. Related work experience required. Basic knowledge of tools and their use. Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and painting skills. Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend and crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
