Director of Nursing

Job Summary:

Meadow Falls of Saybrook, a premier senior living community, is seeking an exceptional Director of Nursing to lead our Nursing Services Department. As a key member of our leadership team, the Director of Nursing will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality resident care, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a positive work environment. This is a full-time, salaried position that reports directly to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the nursing services department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards of practice

• Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote quality care and ensure the safety and well-being of residents

• Recruit, interview, and counsel nursing staff; collaborate with the Medical Director to ensure quality care is provided

• Conduct rounds to assess quality of resident care and staff compliance, and ensure adequate staffing levels

• Investigate complaints, grievances, and allegations of abuse or neglect; promote harmonious relationships among healthcare team members

• Develop and maintain budget and operations plans, and collaborate with the Administration on special projects

• Ensure compliance with Infection Control policies and procedures, and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility

• Conduct monthly staff meetings, Team Manager Nurse meetings, and monthly nursing supervisor meetings

• Establish health and safety rules related to the work environment, and manage stress tolerance, pressure, and anxiety

Requirements:

• Education: LPN or RN, with a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers CPR certificate

• Experience: Sufficient experience to perform daily tasks, with a minimum of five years general nursing experience, and at least two years in long-term care and supervision, administration, consultation, or involvement in the long-term care survey process

• Knowledge: Nursing, Medicine, Psychology, Customer and Personal Service, English Language, Therapy and Counseling, Mathematics, Administration and Management, Safety and Security
