Job Title: Parts Coordinator
Location: Des Moines, IA
Duration: 1+ Year Contract
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, flexible start at 6:00 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Parts Coordinator to support experimental manufacturing operations. This position will be responsible for manufacturing routings, inventory management, material transfers, reporting, part coordination, and troubleshooting manufacturing-related issues.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment , strong computer and organizational skills, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel.

Important: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and edit manufacturing routings for experimental builds.
• Generate programs to support fabrication operations.
• Review and interpret manufactured-part prints and 2D engineering drawings.
• Monitor production inventory and forecast future material requirements.
• Coordinate and process stock transfers between departments while maintaining accurate records.
• Communicate with internal teams regarding materials and stock transfers.
• Coordinate with Supply Management regarding purchased parts and stock availability.
• Prepare, maintain, and update daily and weekly reports using Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Use Excel Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP for reporting, tracking, and data analysis.
• Occasionally design and model simple parts for shop/manufacturing use.
• Troubleshoot part requests received from engineers.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to laser programs and manufacturing routings.
• Support smooth production flow by proactively identifying and resolving part, program, inventory, and material-related issues.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Pre-Engineering, Manufacturing/Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting , or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment .
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office , particularly Excel.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP, are required.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings/prints .
• Experience with CREO and AutoCAD .
• Familiarity with SAP and Power BI .
• Knowledge of inventory management practices.
• Strong computer and overall technical aptitude.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of sheet metal and fabrication processes .
• Experience supporting experimental, prototype, or manufacturing operations.
