Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiology Rad Tech - Neurosurgery Experience Required

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Rad Tech with a background in Neurosurgery or Neuroscience. This position involves working in a dynamic environment, focusing on quality patient care and effective collaboration within a medical team.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to produce high-quality radiologic images.
• Collaborate effectively with department team members to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Show flexibility and accountability while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
• Administer oral contrast as needed and prepare patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations, assisting the Radiologist during procedures.
• Operate all x-ray, CR, and DR systems with proficiency, reporting any equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead.
• Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner, utilizing downtime for departmental support tasks.
• Ensure the security of medications by restricting access to authorized personnel only.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation using Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling inquiries from medical personnel.

Schedule

This position requires a 4x10 hour shift, with day shifts, and includes weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities as needed, with a call schedule of 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least two (2) years of Radiology experience.
• Current Technician License in New York.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience in Neurosurgery or Neuroscience is required.
• ARRT certification is mandatory; VIR certification is a plus.
