Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Clinical Pharmacy Specialist position is available to provide expert oncology pharmaceutical care across inpatient and outpatient infusion services within a comprehensive health system. This role focuses on offering specialized medication management and supporting oncology programs while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive medication management: order laboratory tests, select appropriate therapies, and manage adverse events related to oncology treatments.
• Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols for accuracy, dosage appropriateness, and patient safety.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, manage side effects of chemotherapy, and promote medication adherence.
• Collaborate closely with providers and nursing staff during clinical rounds to make informed treatment decisions.
• Participate in clinical trials, oversee investigational drug management, and contribute to the development of institutional oncology protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy required.
• Eligibility to obtain a California pharmacist license.
• Completion of PGY2 residency or fellowship in oncology OR PGY1 plus three years of clinical oncology specialist experience OR five years of clinical oncology specialist experience.
• Board certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) is preferred.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, day shifts.

• Santa Barbara, CA.
