A warm and welcoming private family in McLean, Virginia is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and certified Newborn Care Specialist to join their household when they welcome their new baby in August . This is a temporary live-in opportunity lasting through the second week of October .

The family is looking for someone who is calm, nurturing, and highly knowledgeable in newborn care. In addition to providing exceptional care for the baby, they would love someone who can offer gentle guidance and postpartum support to Mom during this special transition.

They are seeking a true professional who is confident in establishing healthy newborn routines while creating a reassuring and supportive environment for the entire family.
Responsibilities

• Provide expert, around-the-clock newborn care and support
• Establish healthy feeding, sleeping, and daily routines
• Assist with bottle preparation and feeding support (or breastfeeding support as appropriate)
• Monitor the baby's health, development, and overall well-being
• Maintain detailed feeding, sleeping, and diaper logs
• Perform diapering, bathing, soothing, swaddling, and all newborn care responsibilities
• Sterilize bottles, pumps, and baby equipment
• Launder and organize baby clothing, linens, and nursery items
• Keep the nursery clean, organized, and fully stocked
• Offer postpartum guidance, reassurance, and support to Mom during her recovery
• Educate and support the parents on newborn care best practices while respecting their parenting preferences
• Maintain open communication with the family regarding the baby's progress and daily routines
• Ensure a safe, nurturing, and calm environment for both baby and parents

Requirements

• Certified Newborn Care Specialist (required)
• Extensive professional experience caring for newborns
• Excellent references from previous private families
• Legal to work in the United States
• CPR and Infant First Aid certified
• Experience providing postpartum support to mothers is strongly preferred
• Comfortable living in the family's home throughout the assignment
• Professional, discreet, and dependable
• Able to commit to the position from August through the second week of October 2026
• Flexible schedule, including overnight care as needed
