Warehouse JanitorA Warehouse Janitor in a food distribution facility is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and food-safe environment that supports compliance with FDA, USDA, and company hygiene standards. This role directly contributes to product integrity, workplace safety, and smooth warehouse operations.Key ResponsibilitiesClean and sanitize warehouse floors, aisles, loading docks, and staging areasMaintain cleanliness in temperature-controlled zones (coolers, freezers, dry storage)Perform routine sanitation of high-touch surfaces, equipment exteriors, and workstationsEmpty trash, food waste, and recycling following proper disposal proceduresFollow strict food-safety protocols, including proper chemical handling and sanitation logsSupport pest-prevention efforts by keeping areas free of debris, spills, and food residueOperate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbersAssist with deep-cleaning tasks during scheduled sanitation cyclesReport spills, contamination risks, or facility hazards immediately to supervisorsMaintain inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure proper storage of chemicalsSkills & QualificationsUnderstanding of food-safety standards (HACCP, GMPs) is highly preferredAbility to work in cold environments (coolers/freezers) when neededComfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periodsFamiliarity with industrial cleaning equipmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to sanitationAbility to follow written cleaning schedules and complete sanitation logsPrior janitorial or food-industry experience is a plusWork EnvironmentMix of dry, refrigerated, and frozen warehouse areasExposure to food products, packaging materials, and forkliftsFast-paced environment with strict cleanliness and safety expectationsPrairie Farms Dairy, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
