Environmental Health & Safety Student Worker Effective Date: 07/08/2026 Reports to: Director of Risk Management, Environmental Health & Safety Department: Office of Risk Management & EHS Rate of Pay: Maryland Minimum Wage FSLA Status: Non-Exempt Location of Position: Physical Plant & Eaton Hall, McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157 Duration of Appointment: August 05, 2026 to May 25, 2026 Schedule: Schedule is at discretion of supervisor Evaluation Procedures: Student workers are evaluated on a continuous basis. Scope Provide support to the Director of Risk Management, Environmental Health & Safety with weekly checks throughout campus and numerous projects. Responsibilities Campus wide weekly emergency eyewash and shower inspections Chemical inventory updating Assist in hazard assessments on campus Scanning of documents and office work as needed Projects as needed Schedule 5 to 10 hours a week, M-F, must have availability between 8:30am-4:30pm. Requirements Current undergraduate student at McDaniel College. Must have Federal Work Study. Highly organized and detail oriented. Possess knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Discretion and reliability in sensitive and confidential matters is vital. Physical Characteristics This position requires walking to numerous buildings on campus, as well as some office work. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
