Job Title

Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics

Location

Newport News, VA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple units including ICU, ED, and Medical/Surgical floors
• Support NICU coverage for candidates with applicable experience
• Work within a Level II Trauma Center environment alongside a team of 7–10 Respiratory Therapists depending on census
• Utilize EPIC for all clinical charting and documentation
• Float to other units as needed based on facility census and operational needs

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; CRT also accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• PALS certification required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Active Virginia state license or valid compact license; must be in hand or proof provided at time of submittal
• EPIC charting experience required
• Specialty experience within the last year required
• One supervisory reference required at time of submittal
• Local candidates are welcome and will be considered at the standard base rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NICU experience with NRP certification preferred
• Prior experience in a Level II Trauma Center or multi-ICU environment
• Familiarity with high-acuity patient populations across ICU, ED, and NICU settings
