As Shopify Practice Director, you will lead the technical vision, delivery excellence, and growth strategy for an enterprise Shopify Plus practice. You will oversee a global team of architects, engineers, and solution consultants while shaping how complex commerce platforms are designed, built, and scaled. The role combines enterprise architecture, client partnership, sales engagement, and technical leadership. You will bring deep expertise in Shopify Plus and the broader commerce ecosystem, including ERP, search, CDP, PIM, OMS, and headless commerce technologies. You will influence major client engagements, develop reusable solutions and best practices, and help position the practice for continued growth. Accountabilities:

In this role, you will own the technical direction of the Shopify Plus practice while supporting high-quality delivery, business development, client relationships, and team growth. You will combine strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise to ensure enterprise commerce solutions are scalable, innovative, and commercially successful. Define architectural patterns and best practices for enterprise Shopify Plus implementations, including headless and composable commerce, Shopify Functions, Markets Pro, and B2B capabilities. Lead the design of end-to-end commerce ecosystems connecting Shopify Plus with ERP, enterprise search, CDP/CRM, PIM, OMS, and payment platforms. Evaluate emerging Shopify capabilities and translate new platform developments into client-ready solutions, internal playbooks, and reusable architecture assets. Serve as the senior technical authority on feasibility, scalability, integration strategy, and architecture for Shopify Plus engagements. Oversee technical delivery across global, cross-functional teams, ensuring quality, performance, governance, risk management, and client satisfaction. Establish delivery frameworks and KPIs while acting as a senior escalation point to remove technical and operational blockers. Build, mentor, retain, and develop high-performing teams of Shopify architects, engineers, and solution leads. Lead technical discovery, solutioning, estimation, architecture, and proposal development throughout the sales process. Partner with business development and account teams to identify expansion, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities. Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and Shopify partner and alliance teams. Drive certification, enablement, knowledge-sharing, and professional development programs across the practice. Contribute to case studies, solution playbooks, architecture assets, and reusable frameworks that accelerate delivery and sales. Support practice performance through strong utilization, certification growth, solution quality, sales pipeline contribution, team retention, and internal talent development. Requirements

The ideal candidate brings extensive enterprise technology leadership experience, deep Shopify Plus expertise, and a strong combination of technical, commercial, and people leadership skills. You should be comfortable engaging with executives, technical teams, clients, and commercial stakeholders while operating in a global consulting or systems integration environment. 10+ years of experience in enterprise technology leadership within a consulting, systems integration, or agency environment. 3–4+ years of experience specifically working with Shopify Plus or a comparable enterprise commerce platform. Deep hands-on expertise with Shopify Plus, including Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensibility, Markets Pro, B2B, headless/composable commerce, and the Shopify app ecosystem. Strong knowledge of the wider enterprise commerce technology stack, including ERP integrations such as SAP, Oracle, and NetSuite; enterprise search platforms such as Elasticsearch and Algolia; CDPs such as Segment, mParticle, and Salesforce Data Cloud; PIM, OMS, and payment platforms. Proven experience contributing to or leading sales pursuits, proposals, technical discovery, and client-facing solutioning. Demonstrated ability to build, lead, mentor, and retain distributed technical teams while creating a culture of technical excellence. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across executive, technical, and commercial audiences. Shopify Partner, Shopify Developer, or Shopify Plus certification, or willingness to obtain the relevant certification within six months of joining. Additional certifications such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Solutions Architect, TOGAF, SAFe, PMP, or equivalent enterprise architecture credentials are valued.
