About the Position

Job Title: Clinical Services - Cardiology Profession: Clinical Services Specialty: Cardiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience in Interventional Radiology and Neuro Interventional Radiology Description: This facility is a Level III Trauma Center with a comprehensive stroke center designation. It has 933 beds and provides 24/7 staffing in the department. The unit treats all adult patients and does not accept pediatric cases. Some common procedures performed include kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, central lines, PICCs, ports, fistulograms, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, and nephroureteral stents. Experience with AAA interventions is preferred. Neuro Interventional Radiology procedures include stroke treatments and embolizations. Patients seen in a day average around 40-50. RNs will administer sedation unless anesthesia is involved and are responsible for monitoring and charting. The unit is supported by two coordinators, two lead techs, and techs in each exam room. Respiratory therapy and hospitalist services are available 24/7. The preferred EMR system is EPIC. Experience with Siemens and GE equipment is preferred. Orientation involves working with a preceptor for 1-2 weeks with progress checks. On call requirements include one call shift per week on weekdays and once every 5th or 6th weekend. Travelers will take Neuro call only if they have Neuro experience; otherwise, they will only take General IR call. Response time for call is 30 minutes. Holiday expectations may change to include call only. Up to 7 days of time off can be approved. Shift times for call vary by role but generally range from early morning to late afternoon. Scrub color is provided. Candidates must have experience with complex interventional procedures.
