General Manager

Founded in 1996, ALBERTH AVIATION, LTD. (alberthaviation.com) is an aviation and aerospace company based in Greater Houston (Magnolia), Texas. We are focused on supporting aircraft owners, operators, MROs and OEMs with the design and production of specialized aircraft tooling & ground support equipment. We also support our customers by providing aircraft and engine parts on a sale or exchange basis. Our customers include corporate flight departments, fixed-base operators, military units, airlines, and aviation schools. In February 2024, Alberth Aviation partnered with River Birch Partners, a private investment firm that supports established businesses and management teams in accelerating strategic growth. POSITION OVERVIEW The General Manager will lead Alberth Aviation’s daily operations, including production, product design, purchasing, inventory management, logistics, and operational processes. Reporting to the CEO, this leader will translate business strategy into clear priorities, accountable execution, and measurable results. The role requires a hands-on manager who can develop people, improve systems, and build the operational capacity needed to support continued growth. The General Manager will work across the business and with customers, suppliers, and service partners to strengthen performance, identify profitable opportunities, and establish consistent practices. Responsibilities center on two areas: leadership and strategy, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Strategy Lead and develop the operations team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and opportunities for professional growth. Build a proactive planning culture that anticipates business needs, addresses constraints, and prepares the team for future growth. Partner with the CEO and management team to achieve financial, operational, supplier, and customer performance goals. Develop and implement inventory and logistics strategies that improve product tracking, movement, and distribution. Manage operating budgets with department leaders, control spending, and identify sustainable cost savings. Establish a consistent schedule for reviewing and communicating performance with management, suppliers, and customers. Contribute to multi-year business plans and translate strategic goals into practical operating priorities. Operational Excellence Oversee daily production, product design, purchasing, inventory, shipping, receiving, and logistics, ensuring efficient and reliable execution. Strengthen the process for aircraft acquisition opportunities, including financial analysis, purchasing, teardown coordination, and resale of serviceable components. Improve supply chain performance through inventory controls, delivery reliability, cost management, quality standards, and coordinated purchasing. Establish supplier performance measures covering pricing, repair quality, service, and turnaround times; strengthen relationships with vendors and service partners. Lead effective use of AvSight and other operating systems for inventory, purchasing, and parts sales, with accurate data, reporting, and consistent processes. Develop working knowledge of the engines, APUs, airframes, and components supported by the business to inform operational decisions. Standardize and document operating procedures, workflows, and performance reporting across purchasing, production, inventory, and logistics. Identify new parts distribution channels and opportunities to monetize surplus inventory and aircraft parts acquisitions. Reduce repair and maintenance costs through effective use of existing inventory and service partners. Train team members and reinforce consistent adoption of improved operating practices. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible, fast-paced leadership experience; experience within the aviation or aerospace sector is preferred. Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, and logistics; parts distribution preferred. Demonstrated success managing supply chain operations and delivering results through others. Experience implementing operating procedures, improving processes, and measuring performance. Ability to evaluate business opportunities and communicate their operational and financial implications clearly. Strong relationship-building skills with employees, customers, suppliers, and service partners. Ability to balance technical requirements with business priorities and communicate effectively with both technical and commercial teams. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees and lead teams across departments.
