Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in vibrant communities throughout Prince William County. This position is based in Dale City, Dumfries, and Woodbridge and runs from August 24th, 2026, through June 11th, 2027. Experience a fulfilling role within education, helping children communicate and thrive.
Qualifications & Desired Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Speech-Language, or Communication Disorders is required
- Previous experience working as an SLPA in a school setting is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication proficiency
- Ability to adapt and engage with a diverse student population
- No SLPA license required in Virginia—candidates must meet the state’s education requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to assigned students as directed by a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
- Support implementation and documentation of student goals set within the Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Prepare instructional materials, adapt activities, and encourage student participation during sessions
- Collect and record data regarding student progress and collaborate with teachers and staff to optimize outcomes
- Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP regarding student needs, progress, and session plans
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district and ethical standards
This is a 35-hour-per-week position, typically structured as 7 hours per day during the academic calendar. The schedule offers predictability and the chance to develop meaningful connections within schools and among students in the community.
