Registered Nurse - Geriatric Psychiatry - Day Shift
Join the Seaside Health System team as a Registered Nurse on our Geriatric Psychiatry unit, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled RN to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals on a full-time basis.
About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse on our Geriatric Psychiatry unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to our older adult patients with mental health needs. You will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care to older adult patients with mental health needs, including assessment, medication management, and treatment planning
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
Document patient progress and maintain accurate and detailed records
Participate in shift reports and sharing of patient information with colleagues
Utilize effective communication skills to relay patient information to family members and healthcare providers
Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in geriatric psychiatry
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction

Requirements:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Louisiana
Minimum of 1 year of experience in med surg and/or geriatric psychiatry or a related field
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required
