Position Summary
* This position is only available to enrolled FCC Students* Position Summary: The Peer Mentor meets regularly with members of the Student Success Programs cohort programs to provide a peer perspective and make connections to campus resources. The Peer Mentor has the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: These are intended only as examples of the various types of job duties to be performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is a similar, related, or logical assignment to the position. The following are the functions essential to performing this job: 1. Meets regularly with members of cohort programs within Student Success Programs to provide a peer perspective and provide connection to campus resources. 2. Assist swith special projects as required (i.e., prepare materials for distribution, create spreadsheets, event set-up, etc.). 3. Provides coverage for the front desk, including answering phones, transferring calls, taking messages, and sending emails on behalf of the Office. 4. Provides a professional, helpful, welcoming atmosphere for faculty, staff, students, families, callers, and visitors of the Office of Student Success Programs. 5. Assists students/visitors by providing general information. 6. Assisst with communications for new students and their families via email, phone, and other modes. 7. Conducts outreach to prospective cohort program members. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Minimum Qualifications
1. Be a currently enrolled FCC student currently or formerly involved in a cohort program within Student Success Programs. 2. Ability to interact professionally with other students, faculty, staff, and community members using various modalities: face-to-face, email, and the phone. 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 4. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. 5. Ability to multitask and capable of managing multiple priorities. 6. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Desired Qualifications

2. Working knowledge of the structure and functions of Student Success Programs Work Schedule
