Registered Nurse Oncology

Job Summary:

The Radiation Oncology Nurse is a registered nurse responsible for delivering specialized patient care in a collaborative oncology team. The role involves assessing patients, providing nursing interventions, and supporting patients and families through cancer treatment and recovery processes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patients clinical status and identify potential problems related to disease, treatment, and follow-up.
  
  
• 
  Provide appropriate nursing interventions and monitor patient responses throughout radiation therapy.
  
  
• 
  Educate and counsel patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with radiation oncologists and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
  
  
• 
  Facilitate referrals to supportive services such as rehabilitation, hospice, and nutritional resources.
  
  
• 
  Act as a liaison between Radiation Oncology and external healthcare providers and support groups.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a current Colorado RN license in good standing.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 2 years of RN experience in Radiation Oncology.
  
  
• 
  Certification in BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate ability to adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
  
• 
  Show proficiency in coordinating care across multiple disciplines and cultural groups.
