Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Antitrust and Merger Control Associate in Chicago. The role focuses on HSR compliance and merger control, requiring 2 to 4 years of experience in Hart-Scott-Rodino filings, merger reviews, and antitrust regulatory clearance. The Associate will engage in government investigations, counseling, compliance, and litigation within the antitrust practice.

Duties

• Prepare and manage Hart-Scott-Rodino filings.
• Navigate merger review processes before the DOJ and FTC.
• Coordinate multi-jurisdictional filings.
• Conduct antitrust due diligence.
• Advise clients on competition-related risks in mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of antitrust and competition law experience.
• Experience with Hart-Scott-Rodino filings and Second Requests.
• Substantive antitrust analysis of mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Familiarity with government investigations and enforcement proceedings.
• Experience advising on competition-related risks and compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and work collaboratively.
• Excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
