Technician, Low Voltage, Licensed

Position Summary This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple departments. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job‑related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary. Essential Functions Sets up and configures various low voltage systems (for example, security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling). Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards. Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability. Identifies and resolves issues in low voltage systems promptly to minimize downtimes and restores them to optimal working condition. Provides technical support and training to end users on how to operate and maintain low voltage systems. Addresses customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently. Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and follows all safety guidelines. Maintains accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs. Generates reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities. Evaluates existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed and performs system upgrades. Works closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion. Communicates effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions. Stays abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Demonstrates up‑to‑date expertise and applies it to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans, providing expert advice and guidance to others in applying information and best practices. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, and monitoring progress and results. Models compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and execution of business plans. Physical Activities Read information, often in small print. Visually verify information. Communicate effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment. Create documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument or electronic device. Enter and locate information on an electronic device. Travel Traveling is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. Travel domestically to and from multiple facilities or work‑sites, requiring consecutive overnight stays. Minimum Qualifications Must hold state and jurisdiction required certification and license for the state/jurisdiction of work. Reciprocal license may apply. Licensing requirements vary by state. High school diploma or equivalent. Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. Prior work experience in a role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards. Preferred Qualifications CompTIA certifications for networking (for example, Network+). Experience using intermediate‑level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Manufacturer‑specific certifications (for example, Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems). NICET Level 1 or 2 Fire Alarm Certification. OSHA 10‑hour or 30‑hour safety certification.
