Part Time Medical AssistantThe Medical Assistant is an essential member of a fast-paced dermatology practice, providing both clinical and administrative support to ensure outstanding patient care and efficient clinic operations. This role partners closely with providers by documenting patient visits, preparing patients for exams and procedures, assisting with clinical care, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and fosters a welcoming, professional experience for patients, providers, and staff.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a medical scribe, accurately documenting patient encounters, treatment plans, and provider notes within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories, documenting relevant information, and ensuring efficient patient flow.Assist providers with dermatologic procedures by preparing treatment rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment.Perform clinical support duties appropriate to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, including patient care activities and procedure assistance.Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records through effective use of EMR systems.Utilize scheduling software, including Eclipse and MediNotes, to coordinate appointments and support daily clinic operations.Assist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in, and check-out processes as needed.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.Effectively manage responsibilities in a high-volume clinic while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.Support patient communication and triage activities by addressing calls and appropriately routing clinical concerns when assigned.Provide coverage across multiple clinic locations and schedules as needed to ensure continuity of care and operational efficiency.Promote a positive, welcoming, and professional environment that enhances the patient experience.Essential SkillsAbility to train and work effectively in a fast-paced dermatology clinic.Hands-on experience with electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical record systems.Experience with appointment scheduling in a clinical setting.Ability to act as a scribe for providers and document accurately in real time.Strong patient care skills and commitment to providing compassionate, professional service.Ability to collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinical staff in a team-based environment.Qualifications1-2 years at minimum of recent medical assistant experience.CCMA or RMA preferredCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.SchedulePart Time medical assistant will work approximately 30 hours per week. Must be available to work Monday-Friday between the hours of 7am and 5pm. This position is onsite in Oconomowoc, WI. Ideal candidate will be flexible to work 3 to 4 days per week.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oconomowoc, WI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
