Forklift Operator – 2nd Shift (East Moline)
This 2nd shift Forklift Operator role supports a busy container management and racking warehouse, handling incoming and outgoing racks, totes, and large plastic containers. You will operate a forklift for most of your shift while also assisting with washing, sorting, scanning, and light repair work to keep materials moving safely and efficiently through the facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift safely for the majority of the shift to move racks, totes, and large plastic containers throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, following paperwork carefully to ensure the correct containers are shipped and received.
- Navigate the forklift forward and backward through tight spaces and around obstacles, maintaining control and accuracy.
- Support the tote washing process by loading and unloading plastic totes into the washing machine, then sorting, staging, and scanning them after cleaning.
- Work in process lanes on the inbound floor, removing manufacturer tags from containers and racks and using a hand scanner to process incoming items.
- Assist with repair tasks on large plastic containers ranging in size from approximately 2x2 to 8x8, using hand drills and screwdrivers as needed.
- Stand for the majority of the shift while performing tasks such as sorting, scanning, staging, and light repair work.
- Follow all safety procedures and warehouse guidelines to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to keep workflow steady and minimize delays.
- Work overtime, including up to 10 additional hours and some Saturdays, to meet operational demands.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of recent labor or forklift experience in a warehouse, production, or similar environment.
- Proven ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently, including driving forward and backward through cones and lifting and setting down pallets.
- Capability to pass an onsite forklift skills test involving maneuvering and pallet handling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed during loading, unloading, and material handling tasks.
- Comfort standing on your feet for the entire shift while performing repetitive tasks such as scanning, sorting, and staging.
- Willingness and ability to work up to 10 hours of overtime when required.
- Availability to work on Saturdays as needed to support production and shipping schedules.

This position is based in a warehouse facility focused on container management and racking, with the East Moline location handling all racks and closely aligned operations with a nearby Davenport site. The environment is fast-paced and highly physical, involving constant movement and standing throughout the shift. You will regularly operate a forklift and use equipment such as washing machines for plastic totes, hand-held scanners, and basic hand tools like drills and screwdrivers. Work involves washing, sorting, staging, scanning, and repairing plastic containers and totes that arrive dirty and leave the facility clean and ready for reuse. Shifts are on 2nd shift and may include up to 10 hours of overtime and Saturday work, depending on operational needs. The facility follows standard warehouse safety practices, and attire should be practical and suitable for physical warehouse work, including appropriate footwear and clothing that supports safe and comfortable movement.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Moline, IL. The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
