Overview

Our mission is to strengthen and support foster, adoptive, and biological families in crisis by building community and equipping churches to launch and lead Family Advocacy Ministries (FAMs).  We guide and resource these ministries so churches can care well for families and maximize kingdom impact. Position Summary
The Center for Care & Calling Coordinator (PART TIME) plays a vital role in ensuring that every guest, volunteer, and family experiences a warm, welcoming environment that reflects the heart of Commission 127. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Center, coordinating volunteers, and creating meaningful interactions for all who enter. From greeting visitors and leading groups through the Vulnerable Child Experience to preparing spaces for connection, prayer, and training, this role embodies the ministry of availability—making time, space, and presence a gift to others.

Key Responsibilities
Hospitality & Guest Experience

• Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, greeting each guest with warmth and professionalism.
• Create memorable, welcoming experiences in alignment with Commission 127’s mission and values.
• Lead groups through the Vulnerable Child Experience with sensitivity, storytelling, and impact.
• Prepare and maintain the Coffee & Connection space each day to foster community and conversation.
• Offer prayer and encouragement for visitors and callers, both in person and over the phone.
• Send thank-you cards and follow-up communication to guests and volunteers.
• Communicates guest updates, needs, and follow-up plans to appropriate staff members to ensure continuity of care

Volunteer & Event Support

• Oversee, train, and encourage volunteers serving at the Center.
• Assist with preparing and resetting the training room for programs, workshops, and events.
• Support the coordination of special activities, ensuring smooth operations before, during, and after events.

Administrative & Operational Duties

• Answer and direct incoming phone calls to Commission 127 and to Family Care with professionalism and care.
• Coordinate and oversee external vendors related to the Center for Care & Calling 
• Call VCE participants and ensure all emails are sent out after the Experience. 
• Handle physical mailings, donor letters, and administrative support as needed.
• Monitor and oversee office supplies, ensuring adequate stock for day-to-day and program needs.
• Maintain tidy, welcoming common areas and ensure facilities are guest-ready at all times .

Ministry of Availability

• Be present and accessible throughout the day, responding to the needs of families, visitors, volunteers, and staff.
• Embody the values of Proactive Stewardship, Healthy Hard, and Celebrate Belonging in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Deep commitment to the mission and vision of Commission 127.
• Warm, hospitable personality with a heart for children and families.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage daily operations.
• Comfortable leading small groups and facilitating meaningful experiences.
• Detail-oriented with basic administrative and computer skills (Google Workspace preferred).
• Flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend events.
• Social media and content creation experience is a plus.
• Actively engaged in a local church and able to commit 8-16 hours/week (based on fit)
