Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in a busy Manhattan retail or community pharmacy setting by helping prepare prescriptions, manage inventory, and provide accurate customer service. Daily responsibilities typically include receiving prescription orders, entering patient and medication information into the system, measuring, counting, and labeling medications under pharmacist supervision, and assisting with register and insurance-related tasks when needed. The role also involves restocking shelves, checking expiration dates, maintaining a clean work area, and helping resolve routine questions within scope while referring clinical concerns to the pharmacist. Qualified candidates usually have a high school diploma or equivalent, prior pharmacy or customer service experience, and familiarity with basic computer systems and medication handling procedures. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills are important, along with the ability to follow state and federal pharmacy regulations. Physical demands may include standing for extended periods, frequent hand use, and occasional lifting of supplies. This is a full-time position with a schedule that may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Compensation may be negotiated within the posted range based on relevant experience.
