About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active Registered Nurse License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required Must-Have: - Level I Trauma experience required - First-time travelers not accepted - Ability to float as needed Description: Schedule requirements include 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM shifts. Weekends and holidays may be required as needed. Floating to Emergency Transitional Care Unit is expected. Candidates will be reviewed by clinical staff to determine clinical fit. If clinical criteria are met, the candidate will be sent to the manager for a final decision. Manager interviews are part of the process. Guaranteed hours will depend on the schedule. There is a maximum of 7 days for requested time off. Call requirements are not applicable for this position. The Emergency Department is a 74-bed facility with additional specialized units. All beds have telemetry capabilities. The Emergency Transitional Care Unit serves as a staging area for patients undergoing extensive evaluations and awaiting inpatient placement. Nurses may be expected to care for COVID-19 patients. The facility is tobacco and fragrance-free. Local candidates will have a lower billing rate. Travelers are required to have specific skills, including but not limited to: - Management of patients with acute psychosis - Care of ventilated patients - Central line care and management - Intubation and respiratory support - Management of traumatic injuries - Triage and emergency response. Nurses will care for patients across different age groups, including infants, children, and elderly patients. Support services available include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Trained staff will work closely with interdisciplinary support teams. Documentation and charting experience in an electronic system is preferred. Candidates are encouraged to review specific training and experience requirements as they relate to this position.
