Role Overview

As a Histologist , you will oversee all phases of tissue processing, from fixation through final slide preparation, ensuring high-quality histology services that support accurate diagnosis. This role includes performing special stains and techniques, maintaining required documentation, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing all phases of tissue processing from fixation through final slide preparation

• Performing special stains and histological techniques as required

• Maintaining all files, records, and documentation in compliance with state and federal licensing requirements

• Cleaning, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment and instruments

• Stocking supplies and ensuring appropriate inventory levels

• Performing other duties as assigned in support of pathology services

Qualifications

Education

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

Preferred:

• Technical program completion in Histotechnology

• Associate's degree in a related field

Experience

Preferred:

• Laboratory-related experience

Licensure / Certification

Required:

• ASCP Certified Histotechnician

Preferred:

• ASCP Certified Histotechnologist
