- Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and devising customized care pathways
- Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic health conditions in conjunction with physicians or independently (subject to credentialing)
- Providing education to patients and families about disease prevention, wellness practices, and management strategies
- Prescribing treatments and medications as permitted by your scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-up and managing chronic care processes
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for seamless integrative care
- Accurately documenting patient interactions and care within electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Exceptional clinical judgment combined with a compassionate approach
- Strong communication skills for effective patient, family, and clinical staff interactions
