UW Medical Center-Montlake - Dermatology at Roosevelt has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C).

WORK SCHEDULE

• Full-time 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Dermatology Clinic at UW Medical Center Roosevelt provides comprehensive dermatological care for patients with various skin conditions.

We evaluate all skin conditions from general to specialized care for patientsfrom all age groups. We also have specialized clinicsfor the evaluation and treatment of hair lossatypical moles naildisorders cutaneous lymphomascontact dermatitis and dermatology/rheumatology overlap conditions.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Room patients take vital signs and reconcile records
• Perform injections
• Prepare and clean exam rooms
• Submit medication prior authorizations
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
• Act as a liaison between patient patients family and providers
• Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
• Assist in transporting patients as required

REQUIREMENTS

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent
• Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license certification and/or registration.

$28.27 hourly
