Main Purpose of Job A Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients/clients in State facilities. Employees in this classification may supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and non‑licensed nursing and support staff. Minimum Qualifications Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses. Experience: None. Licenses, Registrations and Certifications Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing. May be assigned duties requiring operation of an automobile; must have a motor vehicle operator's license valid in Maryland. May be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification. Special Requirements Subject to call‑in and must provide the facility with a phone number at which they can be reached. Subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
