Summary The Insurance Producer - Trucking is responsible for generating new business and managing existing accounts within the trucking and transportation industry. This role requires a strong understanding of the unique insurance needs of trucking companies, owner-operators, and related businesses. The Producer will actively prospect for new clients, develop tailored insurance solutions, and provide exceptional customer service to build long‑term relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and pursue potential clients through various methods, including cold calling, networking, referrals, online marketing, and industry events. Needs Assessment: Analyze the insurance requirements of trucking companies and owner-operators, considering their specific operations, cargo, territory, and risk profile. Solution Development: Develop and present customized insurance proposals that address clients' needs and offer competitive pricing. This includes working with various insurance carriers to find the best fit. Sales and Closing: Effectively close deals and secure new business, meeting or exceeding established sales targets. Account Management: Manage and service existing client accounts, including policy renewals, endorsements, and handling inquiries. Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and other industry professionals. Policy Placement: Work with insurance carriers to place coverage and ensure accurate policy documentation. Claims Assistance: Assist clients with the claims process, including reporting claims and providing necessary documentation. Market Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, insurance products, and regulatory changes within the trucking and transportation sector. CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales activities using a CRM system. Compliance: Adhere to all applicable insurance regulations and company policies. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: 3 years of experience in insurance sales, preferably with a focus on trucking or transportation insurance. Entry‑level candidates with a strong sales aptitude and willingness to learn will also be considered. Licensing: Valid Property & Casualty insurance license required. Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong sales and negotiation skills. Knowledge of trucking and transportation industry and related insurance products (e.g., motor truck cargo, liability, physical damage). Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
