About the Opportunity
Our client, a growing professional services organization located in Fort Washington, PA, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build upon their experience in a collaborative environment that offers visibility across the organization and opportunities for professional growth.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, assisting with month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.



Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of accounting records.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting-related issues.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-4+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Public accounting internship or experience.
• Experience in a professional services environment.
• CPA track or CPA designation is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
