Staff Accountant Location: Fort Washington, PA Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Work Arrangement: Hybrid About the Opportunity Our client, a growing professional services organization located in Fort Washington, PA,is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its expanding finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, assisting with month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed. Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies. Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports. Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of accounting records. Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting-related issues. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and controls. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1-4+ years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP). Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Public accounting internship or experience. Experience in a professional services environment. CPA track or CPA designation is a plus. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
