Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior/Lead Business Systems Analyst to serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, end users, management, and technical teams. The role will focus on analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the development and implementation of business solutions.

The ideal candidate should be able to independently manage complex assignments, lead business analysis activities, mentor other analysts, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and provide guidance to business analysts on assigned projects.
• Gather, analyze, and document business and user requirements.
• Create epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements .
• Collaborate with management and end users to understand business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Conduct business process analysis and needs assessments.
• Evaluate proposed system enhancements and assess their impact on existing processes.
• Recommend process improvements and system changes based on business needs.
• Act as a liaison between business users, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
• Provide recommendations and clarification to development teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot business and system issues and coordinate with appropriate teams to identify solutions.
• Manage change requests, backlog items, and project-related tasks.
• Support projects through requirements gathering, development, testing, implementation, and deployment.
• Work closely with development and systems teams to develop, test, and implement solutions.
• Create management reports and organize project-related information.
• Maintain project, issue, task, and backlog documentation.
• Develop process diagrams, flowcharts, wireframes, and functional specifications .
• Participate in or provide end-user training.
• Translate technical concepts into understandable business language.
• Support end users and provide functional assistance when required.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of business requirements gathering and analysis .
• Experience evaluating business processes through workshops, task analysis, surveys, and stakeholder interviews.
• Experience with business process documentation and process improvement .
• Experience creating technical and functional requirements documentation.
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies .
• Experience working with complex business applications or case-management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business users, technical teams, and management.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to identify problems and recommend creative, practical solutions.
• Experience leading small- and medium-sized projects.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments.
• Experience creating process diagrams, flowcharts, and wireframes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SQL .
• Knowledge of test-driven development and software testing practices.
• Project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of Agile best practices.
• Experience working with case management, judicial, government, or similarly complex business systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience

• 3+ years of Business Analyst experience , or equivalent experience working with data and creating reports from datasets.
• Senior-level experience with requirements gathering, business process analysis, stakeholder management, and project ownership is highly desirable.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Public Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Social Sciences , or a related field.
• Equivalent combinations of education and professional experience may be considered.
