Location Sunnyvale, California – onsite full‑time. Role Overview This position is for a level 4 Mission Operations Systems Engineer with an active Secret clearance. You will serve as a Configuration Management (CM) System Engineer, supporting developers and customers for the audit, configuration, and release of software products and documentation to various testing and operation environments. Your work will contribute to the product configuration and release management of Flight Operation Support (FOS) products that support the satellite constellation’s day‑to‑day activities, maintenance, and health. Responsibilities Configure and manage all FOS product configurations in both unclassified and classified networks. Set up and maintain Git repositories for product handoff and configuration processes. Audit and package products for in‑house checkout and formal validation before release for operational use. Prepare and present Change Request (CR) packages to the Flight Ops Support Approval Board (FAB). Release products for use in validations, pre‑launch readiness rehearsals, and launch and early orbit test support. Follow and update CM work instructions. Document audit reports, release notes, and update CM plans and other CM documentation. Identify requirements and support the execution of vehicle flight objectives. Document and implement changes for process improvements. Develop tools and techniques to perform various CM audits and analyses. Serve as moderator/administrator in the Peer Review process. Be available on‑call 24/7 as required and work overtime or weekends when necessary to support mission goals. Travel (less than 10%). Basic Qualifications Active DoD Secret clearance required. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution. Five or more years of professional experience in systems engineering. Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Linux OS, SQL. Experience with Configuration Management (CM). Experience coding in Python. Experience with process improvement. Desired Skills Active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Postgraduate degree in Engineering or a related field. Experience with Jira, GitLab, and release management. Familiarity with Git/GitLab commands and CI/CD methodology. Ability to analyze/audit software products and documentation handoff from developers. Excellent written, verbal communication, presentation skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments and shell scripting. Experience with satellite launch and early orbit testing. Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen.
